Meet The Doctor

Dr. Melody Akhavan is a distinguished expert in ambulatory and office-based anesthesia. She earned her medical degree from the State University of New York School of Medicine and completed her internship in Internal Medicine, followed by a Residency in Anesthesiology at Winthrop University Hospital, NY. Her exceptional performance led to her appointment as Chief Resident in her final year of Residency.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Akhavan maintains unwavering dedication to the ethical and professional standards of her practice, ensuring unparalleled customer satisfaction. Her expertise encompasses general anesthesia, regional anesthetics, and sedation for pain relief or anxiety management. She also oversees preoperative patient assessments and postoperative care during the emergence from anesthesia effects. Previously, Dr. Akhavan served as an Anesthesiologist and Assistant Chief of Anesthesiology at Kaiser Permanente. Currently, she holds the position of President and Lead anesthesiologist at Capital Anaesthesia Associates.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Akhavan enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three children, exploring her passion for travel, and actively participating in non-profit organizations.
